eto sobrang late na...

I watched the Clash of the Titans last weekend...

hindi sa sine of course... hehehe Wink

It has a good story... but if you are familiar sa mythology malalaman mong may mga binago to suit the story...

for one thing it was poseidon (neptune) god of the sea who send a monster and not hades... since it was poseidon's daughter ang ipinang-compare ng mother ni andromeda... ung father ni andromeda, humingi ng tulong sa oracle kung anong dapat gawin para hindi na sila atakihin ng sea monster... and it was the oracle who said that they need to sacrifice his daughter... they chained andromesa sa may batuhan sa may tabing dagat... naked.

si persues naman kagagaling lang sa pagkakapatay kay medusa at nakita si andromeda at iniligtas ito at nagpakasal sila... so supposed to be, sila ni andromeda dapat ang nagkatuluyan sa kuwento pero iniba nila sa movie...

iniba rin nila ang kuwento ng buhay ni persues... oo nga't tatay niya si zeus pero it was persues grandfather who vanished them kasi may hula sa kanya na mamamatay siya sa kamay ng anak ng kanyang daughter...

for me it wasn't boring... though iyon nga at ibinago ang ilang mga bagay... sa story talaga ng mythology hindi puwedeng mawala ang mga characters na nasa movie... but of course it depends sa anong kuwento ang ginagawa nila... hehehe...

there are still many interesting stories sa mythology... sana hindi nila masyadong baguhin kasi pinag-aaralan din ang mythology sa school, like me noong HS kasama iyan sa English literature... baka ma-confuse ang mga students na manonood nito...

naku buti na lang hindi ko ginamit sa film showing 'yan noong lunes. Pinagpipilian namin yan tsaka yung The day the earth stood still... baka ma-confuse ang mga bata. Masyado pang hilaw ang isip nila sa comparisons like this.

mas pinili ko yung huli kasi nabasa ko yung book version nung sa earth stood still, nagandahan ako.

pero papanoorin ko pa rin yang clash of the titans.

The day the earth stood still.... napanood ko na rin siya noon... nagandahan ako dito... may kuwento at pang-aware tungkol sa earth and environment... i think...

The Missing

Plot:

Set in the late 19th-century New Mexico, Samuel Jones (Tommy Lee Jones) reappears hoping to reconcile with his adult daughter Maggie Gilkeson (Cate Blanchett). She is unable to forgive him for abandoning the family and leaving her mother to a hard life and early death. This situation changes when Pesh-Chidin (Eric Schweig) and a dozen of his followers who have left the reservation pass through the area, ritualistically killing settlers and taking their daughters to be sold into the Mexican border. Among those captured is Maggie's eldest daughter, Lilly (Evan Rachel Wood) and Maggie's rancher and boyfriend Brake Baldwin (Aaron Eckhart) was among the settlers killed.

The U.S. Cavalry refuses to help retrieve the captive women as its resources are tied up conducting forced relocation of captive Native Americans. This leaves Maggie, her father, and the younger daughter Dot (Jenna Boyd) alone in tracking the attackers. The group unexpectedly meets up with Kayitah (Jay Tavare), a Chiricahua, and an old friend of Jones, who also happens to be tracking the attackers with his son Honesco, because among the captives is a young Chiricahua woman who is engaged to Honesco. After the two agree to join the group, and Maggie treats Honesco's injuries, Kayitah informs Maggie that Jones had been a member of their Chiricahua band where he gained the name Chaa-duu-ba-its-iidan (translates as “sh*t for luck”) during his wanderings.

It is finally with the combined efforts of the two families that they are able to free the women at the cost of Kayitah's life and immediately flee to the mountains with the kidnappers behind them. Knowing they have no other choice but to stand their ground, the group fights off the remaining kidnappers including Two Stone (Steve Reevis) and during the battle, Jones fights El Brujo, the one responsible for kidnapping his granddaughter, Lilly. When Brujo attempts to kill Maggie with a pistol, Jones sacrifices his life to save his daughter as both he and Brujo fall off a cliff to their deaths. Next, Maggie shoots the last remaining kidnapper Naazhaao (Deryle J. Lujan) to death. She realizes her father's love for her and finally forgives him.

Review:

Ito ang dahilan kung bakit nanumbalik ang gana ko sa old west books. kasi yung setting niya, nakadala. Feeling mo, naroon ka talaga. And the characters are not just like a cut off card board paper. Three dimensional sila.

Cate blanchet looks fashionable on her old west attire. She didn't have much make-up but she really look good on this movie. Hindi siya mukhang haggard. Unlike other movies she had done so far.

Hindi ko maiwasan na ikumpara siya kay Nicole Kidman sa Cold Mountain.

Well I didn't like Cold mountain compare to this one. Kasi hindi naman lovestory ang The Missing, kundi suspense adventure. Bigla tuloy akong naengganyo mag-aral ng equestrian. ang galing kasi ng horse back ride stunts.

I was touched with the story. Nakakaiyak yung part na hindi niya mapatawad yung Tatay niya dahil iniwan silang mag-ina. May dialogue pa doon na, nagtanong yung bunsong anak ni Cate blanchet kay Tommy Lee Jones na bakit daw minsan sumisigaw daw yung mommy niya sa gabi kapag tulog.

Then he said: 'she maybe dreamed of the people who hurt her. she was all alone. I wasn't there for her and her mama.'

kahit kasi hindi pa niya napapatawad yung Tatay niya, nakiusap siya na tulungan siyang hanapin ang anak niyang dalaga na kinidnap ng mga slave trader, sa pamumuno ng Indian outlaw.

jeez, kinikilabutan ako sa tuwing titingin si El Brujo. Mukha talaga siyang demonyo, pramis.

Speaking of daughter, nakakatuwa yung bunsong anak ni Cate Blanchet. Si Dot. Nagpumilit talaga siyang sumama sa paghahanap sa ate niya. She's really reliable and responsible compare to her brat na ate. Siya halos ang naging strength ni Cate blanchet para patuloy na hanapin ang dalaga niyang anak.

Masarap siyang ulitin. Ewan ko ba, marami aman dito na Disturbing scenes. Like yung torture episode. Kung paaano nila tinot-torture yung mga kinidnap nila at brutal na pinapatay yung mga hindi kailangan.

Hindi lang ma-rape nung mga outlaws yung mga kinidnap nilang babae, kasi bababa ang presyo kapag tinikman nila. lalo na yung mga virgin captives. Kasi ibinebenta nila sa mexico para maging prostitute.

mahal daw ang presyo ng virgin kaya innupakan ng isang Indian yung puting lalaki na tinangkang gahasain yung anak ni Cate Blanchet.

sa mga old west ang trip, watch this one. you wouldn't wanna miss this movie.

Napanood nyo na ba ang Underworld: Awakening?

Grabe, no boring moment talaga. Sigh.

Nadepress lang ako ng konti kasi si Michael (Scott Speedman) and Selene Moments yung binabantayan ko so sa next movie pa yun ipapalabas.

Oo, meron pang 5th movie. Maybe in 2 years? haiz.
